Upper Paunglaung hydropower project diverts river water

* Minister for Electric Power-1 Col Zaw Min on 5 December attended a ceremony to divert river water of Upstream Paunglaung hydropower project being implemented by No-1 Construction.

* Next, he inspected the diversion weir and cordially greeted those present. After presenting gifts to the staff of the project, the minister looked into progress in construction of diversion weir and sites for building the main dam, intake structure, hydropower plant and switch yard. He also inspected the site for construction of batching plant of Hi-Tech Co.

* The project is of RCC concrete type. Upon completion, it will generate 454 million kilowatts of electricity per year and the project has completed by 28.20 percent.
