* Minister for Electric Power No. 1 Col Zaw Min on 2 November morning inspected Kengtawng hydropower project about 30 miles northeast of Monei, Langkho District, Shan State (South).
* During his inspection tour, the minister heard a report presented by Director of Construction Group-7 U San Wai on salient points of the project, and stressed the need to continue implementing the project as it is nearing completion and went on to say that most of the towns in Shan State (South) are now being supplied with electric power.
* After inspecting the project, the minister presented gifts to Chinese technicians and the plant manager.
* At present, the hydropower project is supplying electric power to Kengtawng, Langkho, Mongpan, Monei, Maukmai, Namkham, Loilem, Mongpan, Panglong, Leikha, Hopong and Taunggyi round the clock. The whole project will be completed soon.
