* A signing ceremony of MoU among Department of Hydropower Planning Department under the Ministry of Electric Power No. 1, China Guodian Corporation of the People’s Republic of China and Tun Thwin Mining Co., Ltd for the development of Mawlaik hydropower project and Kalewa coal-fired thermal power plant project was held at the meeting hall of the ministry, here, yesterday.
* Minister for Electric Power No. 1 U Zaw Min, Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha, Attorney-General U Aye Maung, directors-general, managing directors, officials and responsible persons of China Guodian Corporation and Tun Thwin Mining Co Ltd attended the ceremony.
* After making an opening speech by Minister U Zaw Min, the Executive Vice-President of the Chinese company expressed thanks for the signing ceremony.
* Director-General U Kyee Soe of the Hydropower Planning Department, Executive Vice-President Mr. Mi Shuhua of Chinese company and Chairman U Thein Tun of Tun Thwin Mining Co Ltd signed MoUs and exchanged the notes. They later had a documentary photo taken.
